~ Ashi-Thai Massage ~

Everyone needs to stretch, but we never make the time for it. Stretching and massage therapy have been proven beneficial for many chronic conditons such as back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertitility, smoking cessation, depression and more.  Ashi - Thai is a combination of compressive techniques and passive stretches.

What is Ashi-Thai?
Ashi-Thai is an expression of Traditional Thai massage techniques and exercises, where the therapist maneuvers your limbs into deep relaxing stretches. Compression of muscle tissue is applied throught the session, helping to release spasm, muscle contraction and tension, always working within your perfect range of motion and pressure. Kind of like a yoga class but you get to relax and focus on breathing, while I perform the stretches.

How does it work?
In an Ashi-Thai session, the client relaxes on a comfortable massage table while the therapist stands on the table holding onto overhead bars for ballance and support, using their feet to deliver the massage and apply deep stretches.

Whom Benefits from it?
Both the client and the therapist. Ashi-thai allows gravity to do the work, leveraging the therapists' body weight to privide a depth and leverage unmatched by other techniques. The massage therapist benefits by not having to use their hands and the client benefits with comfortable stretches and relaxation.

Why do Ashi-Thai?
Ashi-Thai is performed without any oils or creams, and requires the client to wear loose flexible clothing, allowing the therapist to stretch the client's passive body beyond its holding patterns. The client relaxes on the massage table, and will feel many gentle compressions along lines of muscle tension. With each long, slow stretch the client will feel the stress, pain and tension melt away. Ashi-Thai revitalizes the body, mind and soul leaving the client deeply centered and at peace.

Why should clients try it?
Clients of every age and size can benefit from this massage, famous for back and hip pain relief, increased flexibility, and deep relaxation. It is an effective bodywork treatment for all types of athletic injuries. Significant decrease of pain and increases the range of motion.

What should I wear?
Best if dressed in loose comfortable clothing - no zippers or buttons - no slick pants. Yoga type clothing for stretching is best.
